Step 1: Make sure your passport is up to date! REMEMBER that everyone traveling to the wedding will need a passport. This is a must and you won't be able to board your flight without one. If you don't already have a passport, be sure to plan far enough in advance, so you're not having to stress about it at the last minute. Passports can often take up to 6 weeks to obtain.
Step 2: Book a flight to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. (Keep in mind wedding week festivities begin Tuesday evening, Nov. 10th) There are direct flights available from most major airports. And we suggest not waiting until the last minute, since fares will likely escalate.
Step 3: Now that you've landed, let's get you a ride to Sayulita.
Option 1 - Car/Van Service
This is a great option if you are traveling with a group - they even supply you with a cooler of Coronas for the ride! And it includes a stop at the MEGA supermarket and the recommended bank ATM's to get pesos (as many places in Sayulita are cash-only).
It's a flat rate, plus tip, (per vehicle) for a round trip ride or one-way from the airport to your accommodations. They have Suburbans that fit up to 7 people and vans that can fit up to 10 people. So, once you book your travels plans, let us know and we can help pair you up with other traveling guests, fill the vans, and make it as inexpensive as possible.
These services will pick you up at the airport with a sign as you exit customs and drop you off at the doorstep of your vacation casa - an easy, stress-free option after your flight.
One way: ranges from $90-110 per vehicle
Round trip: ranges from $130-$150 per vehicle

Option 2 - Taxis
There are lots of good, safe taxis at the PV airport. To take a taxi, cross the pedestrian bridge at the airport (taxis are cheaper over the bridge but are available for slightly more at the airport). Tell the driver you are going to Sayulita. A taxi for two should be about 550 pesos (US $45). For four people, it’s about 650 pesos, and then each additional person approximately 50 pesos each. They have vans and suburbans for groups if needed.
Option 3 - Bus
There is a local bus from the PV Airport, the "Compostela", that leaves approximately every 20 minutes and costs $2-3 USD. It will have "Sayulita" written across the windshield (be sure to look for this as not all Compostela buses go to Sayulita). The 24 mile journey will take about 1.5 hours and we've heard this option is typically more comfortable without luggage. It will drop you off at the town square in Sayulita. For more info click here.
Step 4: Getting around Sayulita
Once you're in Sayulita, getting around is very easy and you don't need to rent a car. For the most part, everything is within walking distance and is easy to get to. For those of you who aren't crazy about walking everywhere (or want a little help with some of the hills), there are golf carts available for rent. We're looking into getting a group rate on golf carts, so let us know if you're interested and we can help you secure a booking.
